RE: Disneyland during Spring Break

You will be hard-pressed to find a nicer campground than Fort Wilderness. As FL residents we visit Fort Wilderness probably 6 or so times a year. We are actually heading there tomorrow for the kids spring break. As with anything Disney-related, bring your credit card, it can get costly very quickly.

RE: Importance of a Spotter - Lesson Learned the Hard Way UPDATE

I feel your pain.. all $1300 of it. We had just gotten our first RV, a 40' American Eagle. We were shopping for a storage facility to park it. As I was driving around the lot looking at perspective parking slots I "clipped" the corner of a post caving in 2 basement doors. The really sickening thing was I had an attendant from the lot on each side of my coach supposedly watching me to avoid such a disaster. First all I wanted to do was throw up, next came anger and wanting to strangle the two boobs watching my flanks, then finally, two weeks later, came resolve that it was bound to happen sooner-or-later. That one little incident has given me very acute perspective on how to do/not to do things. It is just a shame that with RVing these little "life lessons" are often costly to repair.

RE: A salseman said the Monaco chassis was...

All I can say is that I have owned an American Coach Eagle (Spartan Liberty chasis) and now a Monaco Dynasty (Roadmaster chasis). The Eagle felt like it was "floating". The Dynasty is much more taught, letting you feel more of the road. to steal an analogy from our salesperson, the American handles more like a luxury car, while the Monaco is more inline with a sports car. I prefer the sports car /:D

RE: Bottled Water?

Tried and true method... taste it! I have to believe that if the water somehow went "bad" from foreign contaminants getting into the bottle somehow, it would effect the taste. When beer "skunks" due to the warming/cooling/warming/etc.. the flavor most definitely changes.

RE: After the tanks are dumped..

We flush the toilet 4 or 5 times and add a few handfuls of water-softener "rocks". The rocks bounce around the tank as we head on down the road knocking off any solids that may have accumulated as they dissolve.

RE: Which adapter fits into the air chuck on a Monaco Dynasty

Thank you all for your replies. I will have to "give it a push" to see if that is the problem. My Windsor has a second "always hot" fitting to the left of the engine that I use. The front fitting is not hot on my coach and is used only to charge the brakes for towing. That is interesting... I never looked to see if there was another fitting in the engine compartment. Will have to take a look.

RE: Which adapter fits into the air chuck on a Monaco Dynasty

I know that the air chuck was put there to "air up" the coach in the event that the brakes need to be released for towing purposes. I would prefer not to switch out the quick connect valve in case that is the standard connector emergency crews/tow trucks are equipped to handle.

Which adapter fits into the air chuck on a Monaco Dynasty

I have purchased all of the available quick connect adapters at Home Depot in the hopes that one would fit into the air chuck on an 05 Monaco Dynasty. No luck. Does anyone know the type of adapter I need to fit into that chuck? Where to get one? I was in a low air situation on one of my tires and it would have been great if I could have fixed it using the on-board air compressor. TIA.

RE: Stupid question, but....

With regards to length, Class C's are often in the sub 31 foot range. You also have Super C's, built on true OTR truck chasis' that can go as long as 45' and have stump-pulling towing power.

RE: Best Rates?

I would have to agree with USAA. They financed our last 2 coaches. Given that someone said USAA will give 5.79% I would take that number to your local credit union/bank and have them match or beat it.

RE: Class A Motorhome

Like already mentioned, ours hangs from two shackles. However, on our previously owned 02 American Eagle, be sure to fix some type of "strap" to keep the mud flap from swinging too freely. Before ours was fixed with this strap, as we would cruise down the road it would swing too close to the tailpipe. Before we knew it, it burned a nice hole in the flap and melted two of the four mounted reflectors. Don't know the proximity of your tailpipe to the flap, just be aware of this before you literally burn up your investment.

RE: Tire Monitors

Have any of you with the Doran or Pressure Pro put the sensors on your toad? I am curious to know how the flexible rubber valve stems handled the additional weight of the sensor. Thank you.
